The Dance of the Reed: Cultivating Quietude in Times of Anxiety
Can harmony with Tao contribute to our gaining of strength in times of anxiety?
My lecture includes readings from The Secret of the Golden Flower, considering
them from the perspectives of Daoist alchemy and analytical psychology. We will
limit our focus to the role of the ego, studying examples from the practice room
and everyday life. In the workshop, we will put our understandings from the lecture
into practice, by experimenting with Chinese calligraphy. Materials will be supplied,
and discussion will follow our practice with calligraphy.
